Do What You Love

I love to try different types of workouts, crossfit, yoga, zumba, pilates, insanity, even bellydancing. All those were super fun and enjoyable but I’m always drawn back to my first love of running. To me, there is nothing like lacing up your shoes and just heading out. Sometimes I don’t even know where or how far I am going. I just go. There is something freeing about it. I don’t run to be the skinniest, I don’t run to look better than anyone else, or to be faster than anyone else. I run for myself. I run to be a faster a stronger and better ME. I can be really stressed all day but the minute I hit that pavement the stress just starts flowing off. It’s exhilarating. There’s no stopping me.

Race day. The moment all my hard work is put to the test. I feel so powerful and accomplished when I race. It’s been a while since I have competed. I believe my last race was my half marathon back in 2011. It’s been way too long! My next race will,God willing,be with my daughter in her stroller. I cant wait!

My advice to those who want to lose weight is to do it doing what you love.  Whether it be biking, hiking, dancing, or running, do it with all your heart and you will not fail.
